Governor Wolf has taken a different approach in his two years as governor. And this year’s budget represents a responsible solution to our commonwealth’s deficit challenge – and a different approach from the way things have been done in Harrisburg for almost a generation.
Let’s start here: In Governor Wolf’s proposed budget, there are no new broad-based tax increases. Instead, this budget saves taxpayers more than $2 billion by cutting waste and making government more efficient.
At the same time, this budget protects the investments we’ve made in education, in senior services and services for the intellectually disabled, in fighting the scourge of opioids, and in growing Pennsylvania’s economy.
Together we can reimagine and reinvent our state government, recommit to our schools, our seniors, and our most vulnerable citizens, and rebuild our middle class. We can and will we secure investments in Pennsylvania’s bright future. The work starts now.
