Governor Wolf Signs Six Bills into Law

Harrisburg, PA – Governor Tom Wolf today signed six bills into law, including:

Act 18 – House Bill 794, sponsored by Rep. Gillespie, amends County Code, standardizing the authorization of the local option hotel tax at up to 5% for jurisdictions that are below the 5% threshold.

Act 19 – House Bill 1278, sponsored by Rep. Emrick, amends Title 75 (Vehicles), in other required equipment, allowing for heads up displays to be projected.

Act 20 – House Bill 1329, sponsored by Rep. English, requires certain hospitals to allow patients an opportunity to designate caregivers in patients’ medical records and imposing duties on hospitals.

Act 21 – House Bill 1340, sponsored by Rep. White, Amends Title 68 (Real & Personal Property), in condominiums, further providing for creation, alteration & termination of condominiums & for management; by extending the time by a year, from 3 to 4 for when an action to recover a lein must be initiated by an owners association.

Act 22 – Senate Bill 1022, sponsored by Sen. Argall, authorizes the Department of General Services, with the approval of the Department of Human Services & the governor, to grant & convey to the Municipal Authority of the Township of South Heidelberg, Berks County, or its assigns, a permanent sanitary sewer easement & temporary construction easement.

Act 23 – Senate Bill 1068, sponsored by Sen. Smucker, authorizes the release of Project 70 restrictions on certain lands owned by the City of Lancaster, Lancaster County, in exchange for the imposition of Project 70 restrictions on other lands, and other consideration.
