BLOG: Do Pennsylvanians Support Medical Marijuana?

According to a June 2015 survey, 87 percent of Pennsylvanians support the legalization of medical marijuana.
Another survey done in October of last year found that even more Pennsylvanians – 90 percent – support making cannabis available for suffering patients.
There are few issues with such strong consensus among Pennsylvanians. But like the crisis we are facing with our schools, the legislature has not acted in the two years since medical cannabis legislation was proposed.
The House is back in Harrisburg this week, and representatives from both sides of the aisle deserve credit for considering legalization legislation on the floor. But we cannot stop there. Now is the time to make good on this legislation supported by the vast majority of Pennsylvanians.
Our message to the legislature: Send medical marijuana legislation to Governor Wolf’s desk for signing into law so together we can bring patients and their families the much-needed relief they’ve waited so long for.
