BLOG: Governor Wolf’s Message on the Anniversary of the Amtrak 188 Accident (VIDEO)

“This week marks the one-year anniversary of the tragic Amtrak crash in Philadelphia. And I think we learned a lot from that.
“First of all, I learned a lot. I was in my second or third month as governor when that occurred and I learned that we have some remarkable emergency responders at the local level. I also learned that ordinary Pennsylvanians, in that case Philadelphians, came forward even before the emergency responders to help the victims of that crash.
“I think we also learned some things from a technological point of view – how Amtrak and our railroad folks can prevent this kind of an accident from happening again.
“But I think the main thing is that, when it did happen, the people of Pennsylvania responded through their emergency responders – and ordinary citizens – in a phenomenal way.”
