As 2017 draws to a close, the commonwealth continues to improve education opportunities, enhance communities and support jobs that will benefit the lives of Pennsylvanians through 2018.

Improving Education Opportunities. Governor Wolf touted the state’s significant progress in education and further bolstered Pennsylvania’s position as a national leader in STEM education by joining a bipartisan governors’ partnership to expand computer science programs in schools. Over the next decade, seven in ten jobs in Pennsylvania will require workers to use computers and technology.

Enhancing Communities. This month, Governor Wolf announced hundreds of investments in projects across the Keystone State that will create new recreational opportunities and help conserve natural resources, including the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.

Supporting Jobs. Another company announced plans this month to relocate to Pennsylvania, creating more than 120 new jobs in Monroe County. Governor Wolf also announced low-interest loan approvals for small business projects across the commonwealth that will help retain more than 800 jobs and create more than 125 new jobs within three years.
