December 26, 2018
Harrisburg, PA – Governor Tom Wolf has ordered the Commonwealth flags on the Capitol Complex and all Commonwealth facilities, public buildings and grounds in York County to fly at half-staff in honor of EMT Robert Kohler Sr., who died after suffering a medical event while working at Station 23, Northeastern Area EMS, Manchester, PA, on Christmas morning.
“Frances and I join our neighbors in mourning the loss of a true public servant who was there to help so many in our community,” Governor Wolf said. “Our thoughts are with Robert’s family, friends and colleagues and we wish them peace during this difficult time.”
Mr. Kohler Sr. recently celebrated 25 years with the Northeastern Area EMS.
The Commonwealth flag shall be lowered until the day of interment, which has not yet been announced. The United States and Commonwealth flags have previously been ordered lowered to half-staff until January 1, 2019, to honor President George H.W. Bush.
All Pennsylvanians are invited to participate in this tribute.
