Gov. Wolf Signs Bill to Expand Access to Career and Technical Education, Workforce Development Opportunities
October 30, 2019
Harrisburg, PA – Governor Tom Wolf today signed HB 265, now Act 76 of 2019, which makes the governor’s PAsmart website part of the law and establishes provisions that support career and technical education, and workforce development in Pennsylvania.
“Providing educational opportunities for our students across the commonwealth is a part of preparing them for successful careers,” said Gov. Wolf. “This includes career and technical education and workforce development programs. This new law is another step to helping students make informed decisions about their future.”
The PAsmart website consolidates Pennsylvania’s education, training, and job search tools for people pursuing an education or career in the commonwealth. Over two years, the governor has secured $70 million in funding for the workforce development initiative, with $30 million being invested in job training.
