Governor Wolf Announces Expansion of Bedford County Business Park

August 28, 2018

Harrisburg, PA – Today, Governor Tom Wolf announced new funding to expand the Bedford County Business Park in Bedford Township, creating space for entrepreneurs to start and grow businesses.

“The expansion of this business park will help drive innovation and entrepreneurship in Bedford County by creating a new space to help attract small businesses,” said Governor Wolf. “Small businesses play a vital role in supporting our state economy and we’re proud to support their growth statewide.”

The Bedford County Development Association was approved for a $500,000 grant to support the construction of a 12,000-square-foot building, which will provide readily available space for future tenants in the Hess Business Center. Currently, the 39,000 square-foot Hess Business Center is near capacity. The project is anticipated to create jobs by providing space for small businesses to grow and develop.

“Securing $500,000 to aid in new construction of a 12,000 sq. foot building will be the catalyst that will drive economic growth, attract new businesses and provide family sustaining jobs for our people and our region,” said Senator Wayne Langerholc. “I am pleased to announce this award that was the collaboration of hard work by many individuals.”

Supported through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), funding will support critical expansion projects, some of which will provide opportunities for additional economic development.
