Governor Wolf Nominates New Blair County Sheriff

May 23, 2017

Harrisburg, PA – Governor Tom Wolf today announced his nomination of Paul Richard Brooks to the vacant Blair County Sheriff seat.

“Mr. Brooks recently retired from his job as a deputy with the Blair County Sheriff’s Office, following a distinguished career as chief of police for Allegheny Township,” Governor Wolf said. “I am confident he will serve the people of Blair County well, and I appreciate his desire to return to public service.”

If confirmed by the Senate, Brooks will serve for the remaining term of the previously elected sheriff, who retired prematurely in January. That term runs through January 2018.
