Governor Wolf Orders Flags at Half-Staff to Honor the Victims of the Shooting at the Capital Gazette Newspaper

Harrisburg, PA – Governor Tom Wolf has ordered the Commonwealth flag at the Capitol Complex, Commonwealth facilities, and all public buildings and grounds throughout the state lowered to half-staff. This order is to mark respect for the victims of the attack at the Capital Gazette newspaper in Annapolis, Maryland.
“The attack on the Capital Gazette was an attack on freedom of the press, and the victims deserve to be honored for their sacrifice in furthering the pursuit of truth under the First Amendment,” Governor Wolf said. “In recognition of these victims, their colleagues and journalists across America, I ask all Pennsylvanians to join us in this tribute.”
The Commonwealth and the United States flag shall be lowered immediately, Tuesday, July 3, 2018, until sunset Tuesday, July 3, 2018, per the President’s order. All Pennsylvanians are invited to participate in this tribute.
