Harrisburg, PA – Governor Tom Wolf advised today that several state agencies continue to work with local responders to assist those impacted by flash flooding in central, northcentral and eastern Pennsylvania as 10 shelters have been opened in five counties to assist evacuees and three rescue helicopters have been deployed. “The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency is in constant contact with local emergency management to coordinate and respond to flash flooding in many areas today,” said Governor Wolf. “Safety is always our priority and I commend the emergency responders for doing all that they can to help those affected by flooding and to ensure Pennsylvanians are informed and safe.”

The Commonwealth Response Coordination Center (CRCC) was activated this morning at PEMA, assisted by staff from the departments of Health, Human Services, Transportation, Military and Veterans Affairs, Environmental Protection, Conservation of Natural Resources, in addition to PEMA staff.
