Governor Wolf Visits Juniata, Union County Companies, Highlights Economic Growth and Workforce Development

July 26, 2018

Harrisburg, PA – Today, Governor Tom Wolf visited two central Pennsylvania companies, Champion Modular, in Juniata County, and Playworld, in Union County that received support through the administration’s workforce and economic development programs.

“It’s wonderful to see the incredible work being done at these facilities and I’m proud that the commonwealth has partnered with businesses that are committed to investing in their employees and their local communities,” said Governor Wolf.

The first governor’s first stop was at the home manufacturer, Champion Modular, in Juniata County, a company that was supported through a 2016 project with the Governor’s Action Team. Through this project Champion was able to reopen a vacant manufacturing facility, rehire many of the workers, and invest in the region’s local economy.

The governor’s second stop was at the playground equipment manufacturer, Playworld, in Union County. Supported through the commonwealth’s incumbent worker training program, Playworld has trained more than 250 workers over the past few years.
