This week, Governor Wolf announced the creation of the Pennsylvania Department of Education Division of Charter Schools as an effort to improve quality and accountability of charter schools across the commonwealth.

Governor Wolf also announced that the state’s newly redesigned Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) is now fully operational. PDMP will be an important tool in the fight against the opioid abuse epidemic plaguing Pennsylvania.

Also this week, the governor announced the launch of the Office of Administration’s new open data program. OpenDataPA will enhance the access to information by creating a central repository to share the commonwealth’s data with the general public.

Governor Wolf also joined Department of Transportation Secretary Leslie S. Richards at the grand opening of the new driver’s license center in Norristown to highlight customer service innovations made by PennDOT.
