This week, Governor Wolf invited Speaker Paul Ryan to visit a Pennsylvania substance use disorder treatment Center of Excellence so he could see the positive impact Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act has had in providing treatment to individuals suffering from opioid addiction.

The governor visited Mount Pocono Medical to host a discussion on how to best continue the fight against the opioid abuse epidemic in Pennsylvania.

Governor Wolf and the Department of Corrections announced the decision to begin the process to close SCI Pittsburgh by June 30, 2017. The prison closure is expected to save taxpayers $80 million.

Governor Wolf also announced several job creation, job retention, and business development projects have been approved through the Commonwealth Financing Authority. The governor also announced new jobs in LycomingElk and Clearfield counties.

On Tuesday, Governor Wolf selected Charles H. Ramsey, former Philadelphia Police Commissioner, to be the chairman of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency.
