Fighting the opioid abuse epidemic and providing treatment for Substance Use Disorder is a top priority for Governor Wolf and his administration. This week, Governor Wolf visited Temple University’s Lewis Katz School of Medicine’s Center for Substance Abuse Research and hosted a discussion on how to best continue the fight against the opioid abuse epidemic in Pennsylvania.

On Tuesday, Governor Wolf hosted a press conference to announce that his proposed 2017-2018 budget includes $10 million to provide the overdose antidote Naloxone to first responders and law enforcement across the Commonwealth.

Governor Wolf expanded Medicaid for Pennsylvanians in February of 2015. On Thursday, he announced that over 700,000 Pennsylvanians have enrolled in Pennsylvania’s Medicaid program since the expansion.

This week also marked the one year anniversary of the “It’s On Us PA” campaign to end campus sexual assault.
