This week, Governor Wolf announced that Pennsylvania received $3.7 million in federal grants to battle the opioid abuse crisis. Fighting the current opioid abuse epidemic in Pennsylvania is a top priority for Governor Wolf and the grants will be used to improve initiatives created to help those suffering with substance use disorder.

The governor also announced that a grant of $3.5 million will go towards the revitalization of Midtown Harrisburg. The revitalization project includes the renovation of four vacant and blighted buildings, which will be renovated to contain a mix of commercial and residential space.

On Saturday, the University of Pittsburgh and Penn State University football teams will play each other, reviving a storied inter-state rivalry. Before the game, Pitt Chancellor Patrick Gallagher and Penn State President Eric Barron will join Governor Wolf to promote It’s On Us PA. It’s On Us is a campaign that invites everyone to play a role in ending campus sexual assault.
