Governor’s Office Update On Amtrak 188 Accident

Harrisburg, PA – Tonight at 7:00 p.m., Governor Wolf, joined by the First Lady, returned to Philadelphia where he met with local, state, and Amtrak officials to revisit the site of the Amtrak 188 accident and discuss the progress being made.

Last night at 12:45 a.m., Governor Wolf arrived at the scene of the Amtrak train derailment and received a briefing. He met with local, state, and federal officials, held a media availability to give an update on the situation, and then toured the site of the accident.

Throughout the day, Governor Wolf has been in constant contact with local and federal officials, including Mayor Nutter and President Obama.

Governor Wolf has offered whatever support from the commonwealth that is necessary and will remain in contact with government and safety officials and emergency responders as the situation continues to develop.
