Yesterday, we announced that the Department of General Services transformed commonwealth agencies’ mail operations to save over $1 million. Our goal was to provide efficient and effective mail services without sacrificing quality.
As this video explains, by consolidating presort operations in-house, we reduced state agency costs by two-thirds. Mail collection and delivery are now faster and more efficient and $1.069 million in savings has been achieved since the initiative began in November 2015
That’s what happens when you approach a project like a business and put your customers – the people of Pennsylvania – first.
Watch the video below to see how we made it all happen:
Efforts through this initiative have saved more than $156 million in FY 15-16, exceeding the $150 million savings goal set by the governor. Governor Wolf is now challenging GO-TIME to build upon this success by achieving $500 million in savings by 2020.
