Wolf Administration Announces Personnel Changes
December 21, 2016
Harrisburg, PA – Governor Tom Wolf today announced the upcoming departure of Press Secretary Jeffrey Sheridan, who will take on a new role for Governor Wolf outside his official office at the beginning of the new year.
“For the last two years, Jeff has been an integral part of our successful efforts to invest in education, create economic opportunity for middle class families, and challenge the status quo in Harrisburg,” Governor Wolf said.
Deputy Press Secretary J.J. Abbott will replace Sheridan upon his departure. For the past two years, Abbott has worked with Sheridan, helping manage communications for the governor and advising a number of agencies, including the Departments of Corrections, Transportation, Environmental Protection, Revenue, and State, and the State Police and Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, among others.
Prior to joining the Governor’s Office, Abbott served as a spokesman for the Office of Attorney General, Director of Communications for the Allegheny County Controller, Campaign Manager of Chelsa Wagner for Controller, and as an aide to former Congressman Joe Sestak and former Pennsylvania Auditor General Jack Wagner. He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and a lifetime Pennsylvania resident.
