Gov. Tom Wolf to Address Opioid Summit for New Gubernatorial Administrations
Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf will discuss his state’s efforts to address the opioid crisis at the National Governors Association’s Opioid Summit for New Administrations.
The association representing the 55 governors of states and territories has been working with governors to combat the opioid crisis since 2012.
Gov. Wolf will discuss Pennsylvania’s experiences as part of a two-day meeting that will bring together health and public safety leaders from 33 states and territories to discuss best practices and learn from other state and national experts. Pennsylvania’s response efforts have been hailed as a national model by the American Medical Association for its work to expand treatment and reduce overdose deaths.
The summit is designed to support states that are pursuing a coordinated and effective response to the opioid epidemic. Discussions will focus on best practices for prevention, treatment and recovery, as well as funding and governance structures to support state efforts.
