Gov. Wolf, Legislators to Launch Automatic Record Sealing, Celebrate Clean Slate Legislation Anniversary
Governor Tom Wolf will join Reps. Sheryl Delozier and Jordan Harris, Sen. Camera Bartolotta, and criminal justice reform advocates in celebrating the one-year anniversary of the Clean Slate legislation and marking the start of its automatic sealing process. Clean Slate was signed into law by Gov. Wolf on June 28, 2018, leading the nation as the first state to seal criminal records through automation.
With the automated sealing process taking effect tomorrow, potentially 30 million criminal records could be sealed. Eligible record types include summary offenses and some misdemeanors.
